New Product: Balance Beam Cover 5 m Art. 1490061 | Original SPIETH 

We are pleased to introduce our new balance beam cover (Art. 1490061). This product is the consistent further development of the previous item 1490060 and is now being introduced as a new standard product in the SPIETH range. During the course of 2026, the complete transition from the former cover to the new version 1490061 will take place.

Why a new balance beam cover? 

In daily use, it became apparent that the fit of the previous balance beam cover was not optimal in all areas and that the material created a different feeling on the beam compared to the original balance beam upholstery. The new item 1490061 has therefore been specifically developed further to: 

• ensure the original Soft Touch feeling even when using a cover 
• significantly improve the fit 
• optimize handling during installation 

The result is a balance beam cover that sets new standards functionally, haptically, and in terms of construction.

Important application note (for sales consultations) 

When adjusting the beam height, the hook-and-loop fasteners in the movable area of the bases must be briefly opened. After the height adjustment, they can simply be closed again. 

Why this solution? 

Alternative designs without hook-and-loop fasteners in the movable area would result in insufficient fixation. The chosen solution ensures a significantly better fit and secure hold. Sales argument: “A small additional step – for a perfectly fitting and securely positioned cover.”

Important note: The cover is not suitable for competitions, as – like any cover – it slightly increases the running surface width of the beam. 

*Restriction for the Barcelona balance beam: Due to the beam base design, the outermost hook-and-loop straps cannot be closed. The straps can be tucked underneath the cover. This does NOT affect the fit.

This balance beam cover made from original “Soft Touch” leather is a practical solution to extend the service life of your balance beam and to cover minor upholstery damage. Easy to install and remove without damaging the existing padding. Suitable for “Club” and “Soft Touch” balance beams with a length of 5 m. The cover is secured using a hook-and-loop elastic strap system, allowing optimal adjustment of the cover tension.
