From August 20 to 24, 2025, a very special sporting highlight took place in Rio de Janeiro: For the very first time, the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships were held in South America – and with 78 participating nations, it was also the largest World Championships ever.
We are proud to have been part of this historic event as the official equipment supplier. Our RG competition floor in the arena in Rio provided perfect conditions for the athletes – a decisive factor that allowed the world’s best gymnasts to showcase their skills at the highest level.
Darja Varfolomeev as the dominant athlete
Darja Varfolomeev won five gold medals in Rio (all-around, ball, ribbon, clubs, and team competition), making her the most successful athlete of the World Championships.
Historic achievements for Brazil and the USA
In addition, other nations celebrated groundbreaking successes: Both Brazil and the USA won their very first World Championships medals in Rhythmic Gymnastics – a historic milestone for both countries.
A milestone for the sport
The World Championships in Rio were not only a sporting event of superlatives but also a symbol of the growing importance of Rhythmic Gymnastics worldwide. Henrique Motta from the Brazilian Gymnastics Federation emphasized: “The dream of Rhythmic Gymnastics is becoming reality in Brazil! Hosting the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro is a historic milestone that represents an opportunity for development and will sustainably change Brazilian sport.”
We are delighted to have been part of this unforgettable event – and proud to have supported the world’s gymnastics elite in Brazil.
