Modernization at the State Gymnastics Training Center in Kiel
Sometimes the most successful projects arise from a necessary change. That’s exactly what happened at the State Gymnastics Training Center in Kiel: As part of the comprehensive roof renovation of the Rudi-Gauch-Halle, the Schleswig-Holstein Gymnastics Association (SHTV), in collaboration with the City of Kiel, seized the opportunity to develop the entire training facility with an eye toward the future.
The goal was clear: to create optimal conditions for elite and youth athletes and to adapt the facility for the long term to meet the demands of modern gymnastics. Together with the SHTV, we developed a customized equipment concept that is consistently tailored to the needs of coaches and athletes alike. From the initial planning phase through the selection of suitable equipment to professional installation, we provided comprehensive, one-stop support for the project. This involved far more than simply replacing individual pieces of equipment. The focus was on creating a modern training environment that fosters young talent, supports performance development, and sustainably improves daily training operations.
New equipment concepts, modern mat systems, and an intelligent layout of the training areas now ensure greater flexibility, enhanced safety, and even better training conditions. Among the most important innovations are a modern trampoline track, optimized equipment areas, and additional training options that meet the demands of today’s competitive sports. The result is a training facility that offers athletes ideal conditions to reach their full potential. A key factor in the project’s success was the close and trusting collaboration with the Schleswig-Holstein Gymnastics Association. Through continuous dialogue throughout the entire project, we were able to precisely implement individual requirements while making optimal use of the existing spatial conditions. The result is a modern and high-performance training facility that will strengthen youth gymnastics and elite sports in Schleswig-Holstein for years to come. For us, this project is a successful example of how a shared vision, technical expertise, and collaborative partnership can lead to sustainable solutions. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Schleswig-Holstein Gymnastics Association and the City of Kiel for the trust they have placed in us and for the excellent collaboration. We wish all gymnasts and the entire coaching staff every success in their new training environment and look forward to continuing to support the further development of the state training center in Kiel in the future.
